Set in Lyon's 9th district, the newly opened City Suites Lyon Vaise is just 100 metres from the Metro and 4.5 kilometres from the city centre. The 54 colourful, contemporary studio apartments feature contemporary, colourful decor with simple wooden furniture. All offer flat screen satellite television, direct dial phones, dial up Internet access, music systems, VCRs, hair dryers and safes. Fully equipped kitchenettes have microwaves and refrigerators.
Guests can start the day with a buffet in the breakfast room (surcharge), and those wishing to work out can do so for free at the nearby fitness centre. Guests can also go online with at the dial up Internet points in the hotel, and the multilingual staff at the front desk can advise on the area and fax documents (until 10 p.m.). Nearby attractions include the scenic walks in Des Hauteurs Park which is 1.5 kilometres away, and the panoramic view from the Basilique of Fourviere which is three kilometres from the hotel. Lyon Saint Exupery (Satolas) Airport is 38 kilometres from the hotel, a 30 minute drive.

Trains run from the airport's TGV station and serve many national French destinations. A taxi rank is located in front of Terminal One, level one and a taxi desk is also located on level one in the central hall. A single fare to the hotel will cost approximately 50 EUR. For Lyon city centre, the airport shuttle bus runs every 20 minutes departing from bus stop number one; a return ticket costs around 15 EUR. Disembark at Grange Blanche station, and then catch the metro to Valmy station which is 100 metres from the hotel. A four line metro system and over 85 bus lines service Lyon its surroundings. Tickets for both systems are obtained at city kiosks, the train stations, vending machines and from bus drivers. Lyon is also great to explore on foot; Rue Victor Hugo and Rue de la Republique traverse the central city and extend across the Saone River into Vieux Lyon.
